Okay, I have long been a defender of Philip Roth from the accusations konajce misogyny but this is the book that broke me. Consuela klnajace described physically and what passes for personality about her is her Cuban background and a series of cliches. Even the graphic description of George’s death is “enriched” by sexual motifs.
